The Ghost
and
Mrs. Muir

Welcome to a very wonderful, unique, and romantic television show.

"The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" was based on the 1945 novel by the same name, written by Josephine Aimee Leslie under the pseudonym of R. A. Dick.

In 1945, Twentieth Century Fox bought the film rights to the novel, which had only been published in Britain at that time. The film was released in May, 1947, and starred Rex Harrison as "Captain Daniel Gregg" and Gene Tierney as "Lucy Muir".

In 1968, Fox Television revived the story, adding a twist of humor, and created a whole new genre -  the romantic sitcom.
